Deploying AI and Machine Learning for Smarter Healthcare

Who: University of Canberra

What: Led by Maryam Ghahramani, this project focuses on harnessing AI and machine learning to enhance the early detection and diagnosis of younger onset dementia, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of related interventions. The research is supported by an Industry Co-funded PhD scholarship (2023) titled “Advancing Younger Onset Dementia Detection through Neuroimaging, Motion Assessment, and Machine Learning,” and a Dementia Australia Project Grant (2023) for a pilot study on detecting younger onset dementia using machine learning. This study also explores the impact of a 12-week home-based exercise program on motor function in individuals with younger onset dementia.
