Younger Onset Dementia Detection and Motor Function Enhancement through Machine Learning and Exercise

Who:  University of Canberra

What: This pilot study, led by Associate Professor Nathan D’Cunha, focuses on two critical objectives related to Younger Onset Dementia (YOD). The first objective is to design a multimodal machine learning model that can accurately detect YOD and identify associated biomarkers. The second objective is to develop and implement a 12-week individualized exercise program tailored to individuals with YOD, aiming to enhance motor function and monitor changes in the identified biomarkers. The project is supported by a grant from the Dementia Australia Research Fund and involves collaboration between SCiTECH and UCRISE colleagues.
